The Tampere region consist of 26 hospitals. As part of a larger EHR project a SMooTH VNA, integrated with XDS, was implemented to enable central archiving of all medical images and SMooTHViewer was implemented to enable sharing of images between the hospitals

Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospital Trust (UK)

Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust uses a solution based on the SMooTH VNA, delivered by our partner SynApps Solutions. The solution gives the trust’s clinicians – and external healthcare partners – instantaneous access to patients’ medical images and associated case notes at the point of need. More than 80 million of the Royal’s medical images have been migrated across to the VNA to date.

The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest and busiest hospital trusts in the North of England. It delivers services across two sites and three hospitals and employs more than 5,500 people, treating half a million people in its outpatient department and 150,000 emergency patients and day case admissions.

SMooTH Viewer is used for diagnosis of the images/videos by cardiologists, opthalmologists. SMooTH viewer is also used for distributing the images to referring physicians

Kingston Hospital (London, UK)

 

Kingston Hospital uses SMooTH VNA and SMooTH PatientViewer delivered by our partner SynApps Solutions. The solution is aimed at making the sharing of medical data easier for clinicians, as well as making patient records available across any combination of service providers – within both the NHS and beyond. The solution also incorporates XDS cross-document sharing capabilities which Kingston uses to create electronic patient records that can be readily accessed by doctors.

CHU Nancy wanted to become independent of its PACS supplier, in order to be able to freely select a new PACS-supplier if required. SMooTH VNA manages the new vendor neutral archive, where all existing radiology data were migrated using SMooTH Move. A new PACS supplier was selected that connects to the VNA for older studies. SMooTH Viewer is used for access to the images by referring physicians as well as by radiologists on call.

Jan Yperman hospital has decided to go for one central archive for all medical data from its patients. This way it also wanted to be independent of its PACS supplier. SMooTH VNA manages the DICOM-part of this central archive, connected to existing PACS-installations. SMooTH Viewer is used for access to the images by referring physicians as well as by radiologists on call. The existing PACS archive has been migrated to the SMooTH VNA using SMooTH Move.

ZorgSaam hospital plays an important role within the region of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, close to the Belgian boarder. The hospital uses SMooTH VNA for storing all medical images from any source/department in one central archive for easier management and lower cost. SMooTH Viewer is used for access to any image from physicians inside the hospital as well as referring physicians. SMooTH Move is used to migrate all information from the existing radiology PACS to the SMooTH VNA.
